Webcam and camera test
Turn on your camera to check that it works and see the real resolution and frame rate it delivers.
The camera starts only when you press the button, and your browser asks for permission first.
The video stays on your device. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

Camera not working?
- Permission blocked: click the lock or camera icon next to the address bar and allow the camera for this site.
- Camera busy: only one app can use the camera at a time on many systems. Close Zoom, Teams, Skype or the Camera app.
- Black image: check for a privacy shutter or a camera key (often F8 or F10 on laptops).
- Windows privacy setting: Settings → Privacy & security → Camera, and allow desktop apps and your browser.
Why the resolution may be lower than advertised
The test asks for the highest resolution your camera supports. If it reports less, the camera may be limited by a USB 2.0 port, by the browser, or by the camera's own settings. Many "1080p" laptop cameras actually deliver 720p, and frame rate often drops in low light.
