DeviTest

Touch screen test online

Swipe across a grid that covers the whole screen. Every square you touch turns green — a square that refuses to light up is a dead zone.

Runs right here in full screen — nothing is uploaded. Press Esc or ✕ to exit.

How to run the test

  1. Remove any case edge that covers the screen and wipe the glass dry.
  2. Start the test. It opens in full screen with a grid of squares and a progress counter.
  3. Slowly swipe across each row until the squares turn green.
  4. Finish with the edges and corners — that's where cracked or replaced screens fail first. The goal is 100%.

How to read the result

Test multi-touch too

A healthy phone screen detects at least five fingers at once. Some non-original replacement parts only detect two or three. Use the multi-touch counter in our phone hardware test: place your fingers down one by one and see the maximum it reaches.

If the test shows a problem, read touchscreen not responding: causes and fixes for the steps to try before paying for a repair.

Frequently asked questions

Why does an area stay unmarked?

Go over it again slowly. If it still doesn't turn green, remove any screen protector or case edge and clean the screen. An area that never responds after that usually means a fault in the touch layer or its connector.

Does a screen protector affect touch?

A thick, bubbled or badly fitted protector can cause missed touches, especially near the edges. If the test improves after removing it, the protector is the problem.

Can I test a laptop touchscreen?

Yes. The test works in any browser with touch input. With a mouse you can only check the drawing itself, not the touch layer.
